Vanderbilt CFO Brett Candy announced Monday that Eric Bymaster has been named the College’s companion vice chancellor for finance following a national search.
Bymaster will provide strategic management to the commercial enterprise officers in each College’s faculties, the provost’s academic affairs team, and the university’s economic planning and evaluation crew.
“This leadership position supporting the provost, the faculties, and the college’s financial planning efforts is a key function always, however, in particular so now, as Vanderbilt keeps navigating the many financially demanding situations facing better education,” Sweet said.
Vice-Chancellor for Educational Affairs and Provost Susan R. Wente delivered, “We’re fortunate to have Eric as a part of our crew. He brings his huge know-how to assisting all our academic regions, and I sit up for running closely with him.”
A 21-12 months veteran of better training management, finance, and planning, Bymaster comes to Vanderbilt from Emory University in Atlanta, where he most recently became the companion vice president for finance, administration, and operations within the Campus Life division. Bymaster brings financial and administrative experience across many colleges and operational areas. There are previous stints as Emory’s library gadget finances director, assistant director in Purdue University’s basic actual property office, enterprise officer at Purdue’s University of Engineering, and grants and agreement administration at Purdue’s University of Agriculture.

The recipient of a bachelor of technology from Purdue College’s Krannert Faculty of Management, Bymaster received a master of science in training administration from Purdue’s schooling faculty. Bymaster will begin his new position on Aug. 1.
